Morus Multicaulis Mania

ingridrichter:

A wild, reckless spirit of speculation which seized upon people, even those of intelligence, in the United States, about the year 1835, and which led them to purchase and cultivate mulberry trees at fabulous prices, with the view of rearing the silkworm. It soon died out, however, but not without great losses having been sustained by the deluded.
